BWRT for Anxiety

Anxiety Therapy in Edinburgh and Online

Do you find yourself constantly worrying, overthinking or expecting the worst?

Perhaps your mind feels as though it never switches off. You may struggle with racing thoughts, physical tension, panic attacks, difficulty sleeping or a constant sense of unease.

Anxiety can affect every area of life. It can impact relationships, work, confidence and your ability to enjoy the things that once came naturally.

The good news is that anxiety is not who you are. It is a pattern that your brain has learned, and patterns can be changed.

How BWRT Can Help Anxiety

BWRT® (BrainWorking Recursive Therapy) is a modern, neuroscience-based approach designed to work directly with the brain's automatic responses.

Unlike approaches that focus primarily on talking about the problem, BWRT works with the patterns that drive anxiety in the first place.

This means we can often reduce the intensity of anxious responses without having to repeatedly revisit difficult experiences or spend months analysing why they developed.

The aim is simple:

To help your brain respond differently so that you can feel calmer, clearer and more in control.

Common Anxiety Problems I Help With

BWRT may help with:

  • Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD)

  • Chronic worry and overthinking

  • Panic attacks

  • Social anxiety

  • Health anxiety

  • Fear of failure

  • Performance anxiety

  • Imposter syndrome

  • Anxiety related to work or relationships

  • Anxiety following stressful or traumatic experiences

What Does Anxiety Feel Like?

Everyone experiences anxiety differently, but common symptoms include:

  • Constant worrying

  • Racing thoughts

  • Difficulty relaxing

  • Feeling on edge

  • Trouble sleeping

  • Panic attacks

  • Physical tension

  • Stomach discomfort

  • Avoiding situations that trigger anxiety

  • Feeling exhausted from always being "switched on"

Many clients tell me they feel trapped in a cycle of anxiety and overthinking despite knowing logically that their fears may not be realistic.

This is because anxiety is often driven by automatic brain responses rather than conscious choice.

Many clients notice significant progress within 2–6 sessions. More complex or long-standing issues may require additional support.

Can sessions be online?

Yes. BWRT works very effectively online as well as in person.

Yes. BWRT is frequently used to help people change the automatic responses that contribute to panic and anxiety symptoms.
